Elliot Bay Trail

September 29, 2012

We checked out the Elliot Bay biking trail today. The views were spectacular. It was a gorgeous day to be out with my pups.

Dog Park pack size

September 7, 2012

My 4-pack

My 4-pack

Let’s talk about pack size for a minute. It is common these days for dog walkers to take 8 – 10+ dogs to the dog park at one time (most don’t advertise this). Too often I see dogs left out and not being properly engaged or attended to because the dog walker has too many in their care. The going trend seems to be larger packs and this makes me really sad. I have been doing this for 14 years now and have always done things a bit differently. My pack size is 4 for dog park with a floating 5th space in case a client needs to add a day on. I do what I feel is responsible by the dogs in my pack, plain and simple. My smaller pack size allows my dogs to enjoy all the benefits of being part of a pack of pals without getting lost in the shuffle, over crowded in the vehicle or over stimulated. It also allows me to give proper monitoring, guidance and engagement to each and every pack member. This helps to ensure a safe, super fun time for all.
